Tae Kwon-Do’s Little Dragons

What is Little Dragons?

The Little Dragons class is specifically aimed towards boys and girls in the age bracket of 5-8 years. The program has been specially designed to encourage children to learn and enjoy Tae Kwon-Do in a fun and safe way while making lots of new friends.

This specially designed syllabus was created by Master Douglas and his daughter Nicole and is a new and fun way of learning Tae Kwon-Do and encourages active participation and learning new skills such as;

The Fundamental Movements of Tae Kwon-Do

Focus Concentration
Perseverance Teamwork
Coordination Speed
Fitness Flexibility
Discipline Control

The attention span of a child this age is about 35-45 minutes after which they lose concentration. That is why the Little Dragons class is broken down into 4-5 segments of approx. 10 minutes each. In the Little Dragons class the children are kept occupied for the whole time and will train with children of their own age group.

Award System

The Little Dragons belt system is based on merits, which are gained when your child completes 1 assigned task each week.
After 4 tasks, they receive a star and a yellow stripe on their white belt and the same idea is used through the whole coloured belt system.

Because this is a specially designed class the belts and suit (Dobuk) are different and more suited to this class and are unlike the traditional Tae Kwon-Do suit (Dobuk) and belts.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch their child’s progress and to see how the class operates.
